The geological past of JEZERSKO BASIN is extremely varied. Oldest of all is the chain of coral reef from Pristovški Storžič, Virnikov Grintovec to Stegovnik, which is 400 million years old.
Here we find sandstone from the desert epoch, volcanic stone and the GRINTOVCI MOUNTAINS, which are approximately 220 million years old and their precipitous northern faces are the first sight to arrest the gaze of those who comes to our oasis of peace to seek their share.
The most eloquent witness to the earth´s turbulent past are the natural sights:
